The orcs are coming! The normally warring orc tribes have united, and they are well armed and disciplined. But who has found the strength of will to unite the tribes? Where is their supply of arms and armor coming from? Join Remence, a young ranger, Caladin, a one of a kind rogue, and an unusual cast of companions who find themselves on the same path to discovering the answers to these mysteries.
Cousins, Caladin and Quinn, were hired to procure some important documents. Double crossed by their employer, Lady Noxaura, leader of the Boars, the cousins join with the Wolves, a secret organization, hell-bent on thwarting the Boars' plans to take the flourishing lumber town of Laumberden. At the heart of the conspiracy is a high priest of the lich-god, Vykosch. If the cousins fail to stop Lady Noxaura and the high priest's efforts the whole of the North is likely to descend into darkness.

- "I love the characters in this book! And the author's sense of humor permeates the whole story, making this read fun, fun, fun! If you like Kings of the Wyld you will love this one! "-M.L. Spencer, Best Selling Author of The Rhenwars Saga and Chaos Cycle
-"I thought the characters were really well done and probably the highlight of the book. Cousins Caladin and Quinn, the two 'gentlemen procurers' steal the show somewhat, and I'm not surprised to learn that the author intends to write more with these two. They have a great relationship and there is lots of humour and back and forth between them. " -Jaime Edmundson,
Author of The Weapons Takers Saga and The Og-Grim-Dog Series
-"I have to say that this book felt like fun."
AND
"... they (speaking of Caladin and Quinn) come off a little like Hadrian and Royce from Michael J Sullivan's books when they banter together, and that's a good thing."
AND
"I liked the characters and plot and although it's a longer title it had a good pace which kept me reading and engaged with the characters. 3.75*s from me which is 7.5/10 for #SPFBO. -Kaitlin Grey (Kitty G) SPFBO judge

"John D. Pepe brings to life epic fantasy fiction in The Lone Wolf. When Remence discovers a large army of orcs gathering, he knows he has to return home to warn his father and the rest of the villagers about the probable attack. Because orc tribes are known to rather fight each other than work together, the village elders do not believe him. What follows is a race to safety and the Ironwood Gate. Living a life of thieving and running, cousins Caladin and Quinn find themselves in Ironwood with nowhere else to go and join a band of orc hunters to earn some coin. Having lost his home, Remence joins forces with the procuring cousins and they find themselves uncovering a plot of deception by those higher up to gain more power in Dacturn.
Author John D. Pepe has created a world in which brothers in arms come in an array of different forms. With the combination of orcs, goblins, and humans, there is sure to be well-choreographed fighting. You will not be disappointed in the way you will suddenly be absorbed in the descriptive words, racing to the end. Running through these pages is a strong theme of transition from boy to man and keeping to one's moral compass. The characters are likable with quirky dialogue that will put a smile on your face. The Lone Wolf is suitable for young adult readers with an abundance of action and methodical fighting. This book is filled to the brim with adventure and intrigue and will satisfy readers."

"John D. Pepe brings us another epic fantasy in The Gentlemen Procurers. After their heroic efforts in Dacturn, King Harthhold grants Caladin and Quinn pardons for all their crimes, proven and unproven. The cousins now find themselves in Durlis, contracted to steal shipping information from Baron Ecklon. Soon after, they join forces with the Wolves to save the city of Laumberden from the evil clutches of the Vykosch priest Hadur and the beautiful, but lethal Red Boar, Noxaura, and her army. From necromancers to shadow-weavers and monsters made of death, the cousins fight for a purpose as well as gold. Will they be able to survive the traitor in their midst or will the final battle with the formidable Noxaura prove too much for the cousins?
Author John D. Pepe has created a maze of twists and turns with the plot in this book. Perfectly choreographed skirmishes and witty dialogue will keep you turning page after page. Sensory stimulation is abundant and will have you in the middle of every scene. Characters are likable and filled with personality that will have you rolling your eyes in understanding. Even though The Gentlemen Procurers can be read as a stand-alone, I recommend first reading The Lone Wolf. I loved the tiny nuggets of insight regarding the cousins’ childhood. Suitable for young adult readers and fans of fantasy alike, this book will not disappoint. The ending leaves room for more adventures and I look forward to finding out what the cousins get up to next."
